The museum also contains 2,000 digital images, available to browse and view on CD, and documents that deal with traditionalist movements in Argentina. Jewish Museum

2_6 The Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires was founded in 1967. It is a private museum with historical, religious, and artistic heritage. To found the museum, Dr. Salvador Kibrick donated his private collection almost entirely. It features two rooms: one displays ritual objects and documents from the Jewish immigration to Argentina; the other room features valuable paintings of Jewish themes. Guided tours are available in English and Spanish, and include a visit to the Synagogue.

Agricultural Fair

1_6During April, it takes place one of the most important cattle and agricultural fairs in Argentina, at the Predio Ferial de Palermo. Here, farm animals are the main characters . The most famous races, alongside many more other countryside products, are exhibited in the specially built pavilions. Machinery, fruits, farm clothing and accessories, are on display for the delight of city dwellers and country folk. Some animals are auctioned and the most outstanding exemplars

Museo de las Telecomunicaciones

14 This museum houses a number of historic pieces as well as didactic journey related to the beginnings of telegraphy, telephony, radio, television and Internet. Another attraction is the architecture of the building itself. It was once an old art deco tavern built by the Hungarian architect Andres Kallnay. Visitors can amuse themselves with a number of interactive exhibits.

Festival Internacional del Tango

13 Organized by the regional government and held at several venues, this festival boasts a wide selection of orchestras and artists, as well as many other attractions. These events bring together a great number of well-known personalities. There are also performances by singers and authors. Graphic exhibitions commemorate the bygone Buenos Aires, confirming that tango is still very much alive in the hearts of all the citizens.

Catedral Metropolitana

12 This Catholic cathedral was finished in 1862. The remains of the Great Liberator General Jose de San Martín rest in a guarded mausoleum, flanked by three statues representing Liberty, Commerce and Labour along with seals of the nation's neighbouring countries. Its renaissance elements include the tiled dome and the architectural floor plan of a Latin cross, comprised of three naves, divided by pilasters and interconnected chapels. Paintings and sculptures of European artists from the 18th century and the baroque Altarpiece from Alto Peru are highlights.

Basílica de Santo Domingo

11 This church housed the Natural History Museum and astronomic observatory under President Rivadavia. An atrium houses the Mausoleum of Gral. Manuel Belgrano. This work by Hector Ximenez has a large base of red granite with two bas-reliefs representing the presentation of the Flag and the Battle of Tucumán.

Club Alemán de Equitación

10 The German Riding Club was established in 1915 and has been the venue for the famous equestrian Derby General San Martín. Next to the Lagos de Palermo and has fences and a running track along with natural obstacles such as ponds and poles. Cultural events also often take place here and exchanges with other entities are signed. Their equestrian school trains for jumping, eventing, dressage, riding, and vaulting. Equine exhibitions also take place here and are free to the public. Non members are wellcome to took lessons at a fair price.

Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo

9 The Hippodrome in  Palermo opened  in 1876, with typical architecture of the belle epoque period. Its elliptical shape contours the three racetracks. In 1908 a grandstand and tree-shaded areas, lakes and Carrara marble sculptures were added for a touch of elegance. The renowned Gran Premio República Argentina and the  Gran Premio de las Americas are the outstanding annual races held here. The grandstand frequently fills with crowds. Plaza Francia

3_4 Founded in 1909, comprises some 15,400 square meters of local flora surrounded by cultural centers and the largest outdoor handicrafts fair in the city, La Feria de Recoleta, taking place every Sunday. It is in commemoration of the Centennial of the Revolution of May. The Museum of Fine Arts, monolithic National Library and imposing University Faculty of Law flank the area.
